This is one of those "you just have to know about it because I love it or hate it" reviews. I bought my Scout Pal LeapFrog target last week and have been in love with him since. IMG_1674e2 First, he is adorable! Believe me, once it is programmed, it is even more beautiful! His "Hi, Lily! Greeting" melts my heart every time!

Scout comes with a USB connection, you download LeapFrog Connect and plug it into your computer. From there, you can add the child's name, favorite color, favorite animal and favorite food. You can also change songs Scout - it comes pre-programmed with 5 music day and night 5 songs that you can switch to 30 + / - the other options.

IMG_1691e2 My Pal Scout is rated for children from 6 months to 3 years. Lily is just under 5 months, and she loves it! In most cases, we push the button for it, though sometimes she does it alone. We are all very impressed with My Pal Violet. Even Grandma, Mom and Dad like to love her! Dot (18 months) will get it and embrace it often, which is an extremely rare event with anything else. (Even Momma just got a hug from her ever!) She has quickly made this her favorite toy.

This toy has options to download the best of programming that is to say and write the name of his son. I just wish they had "Dot," as one of the options to name, we are now using "baby", which is good, but definitely not the same. I am hoping the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and I keep posting in the forums of Leapfrog to get your name added to the list.

The first few days, Dot was obsessed with the "off" button / foot, and would get very frustrated. You see, that is the one with the red circle on it, and red seems to be more attractive to babies. It was a couple of days before I could convince her that the other legs were much more interesting. It's good to have a mechanism for silencing fast, but perhaps it could be a tweak of the ear or tail instead of the button shank. What would really make this toy the best (and I would pay even more for it) is if I could load my own MP3 songs or other leg-room, with two, five and ten minutes options similar to the lullaby foot.

Every morning after breakfast, rocks Dot Violet:

The song Lullaby is a wonderful idea, although I found most of the songs is a little too optimistic. I always look slow and soft melodies, and hard pitches with nothing on it. Thanks to a wide range, we found five songs that we love. It would be nice if there was a small white LED on your brand that would give a constant light during the soft lullaby music for added comfort in a dark room. The red there now just makes the tag look red instead of purple when flashing.

The game music and the legs are very creative! At first, Dot has learned to go through all that a fraction of a second at a time until he hit his favorite music. Now, it at least a pause for "My Favorite Song" and one who spells her name. She also likes to do imitations of animals. She can not talk yet, but at fourteen months she would meow, bark and moo! She is learning the signs of all animals and like when Violet asks her about them.

Dot likes to separate the Velcro on the back! If there was a small part in the middle that was a little bigger, it can prevent little hands from pulling it open so easily. At least it's very well made and safe, even when it is open!

This is my favorite toy 2 years old! He sleeps with her (it plays music night), he takes the car when we go somewhere. Best toy now! This is a purchase for sure! A very nice this toy is that it is soft and luxurious. There was actually a recall on the scout who was out for several months and my son was so attached to him, who asked that the company sends us a new ... after receiving it, it would send the old one ... instead of your typical procedure, we send them our scout, and then send us a new one. The company was very nice about it and very quickly sent us the new scout. My son would have been devastated if he had lost the scout for a few days. The recall was due to the legs have a label on them, instead of the new version where the feet have the seam on them. Both my twins really like this toy, however, one likes more than others .. so I guess I'll just depend on your child. I am glad that I bought.

My youngest son recently celebrated his first birthday. I took my oldest son to go shopping with me to buy the baby his birthday present. After reiterating that the baby would buy this one, my oldest son chose My Pal Scout.

My Pal Scout is a stuffed dog cute puppy made by Leap Frog. It is much more than just a stuffed animal. My Pal Scout is green and white and super soft and cuddly. It has interactive buttons in each of his legs. One leg is the power button. Another foot is to the music of the night. You can play either 2, 5 or 10 minutes of music to sleep. The third leg is the time / day of music fun. The foot is passed to the fun and games. When you press his paw fun - Scout talks about emotions, colors, words, favorite foods, numbers, etc. Also, when you press any one of its paws, turns on his collar.

By far the best thing about Scout is that you can customize the computer through a hook up. Just insert the included USB cable to Scout for your computer. I would like to present the only toy my daughter asks for the name, my dog Scout Pal Interactive (This is, of course, assuming your name is actually "Woof Woof" as she insists that is). When I got to know the representative LeapFrog's time to Play Holiday Showcase and he showed me the different features interactive on My Pal, I knew immediately that it would be a hit with my 16 months old.

At first I did not think my computer is fast enough to load the screen to customize, but it was incredibly relieved when the technical support to the Leap Frog diagnosed the problem within seconds of my call. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of about 3,700 Scout My Pal LeapFrog electronic toy dogs because they bear paws decals can be removed and swallowed by a child, which is a choking hazard.

I fell so in love with Scout I went out and bought the version Isabella girl, Violet, for Christmas. Evan has fun with both Scout so I had to get an Isabella. Scout and Violet both teach first words, the daily routines, the meaning of the original number, and the feelings and emotions.

My kids would love a dog, especially a 5-year-old. But between the two sons - one a baby - and a job that is an hour and a half to commute far, I have the energy to take care of another living being. A new compromise possible? LeapFrog My Pal Scout ($ 19.99 list).

Scout and her sister, "" My Pal Violet, should be familiar to those who have played with such products like the LeapFrog ClickStart: It's the version of stuffed toy dog owned by Tad LeapFrog's range of toys and DVDs On the surface , it seems like many other toys on the market that use the technology base to appeal to the 6-months-and-up set. He is adorable, he talks and sings when you press the legs, and he lights up. But look below the surface, and you will find more.

The green and white Scout measures approximately 13 by 7 inches (HW). Blue collar flashes when it is active. Each of its four legs has its function: Press the left paw, and he sings. Press the right front paw, and he makes statements to encourage interaction (eg, "Guess what I am?" Quack, Quack! "). The right hind leg activates lullabies, and left hind leg turns it on and off. There are icons on each foot to denote its function, but seems less for the benefit of children - at least in my 9-month-old did not even know what a foot, much less an icon - and for parents they are playing with the children.

Once you do this, you are sent to the LeapFrog Web site, where you are invited to download the LeapFrog Connect Application. You then open the application and start programming information on the children for whom the toy is intended. Start by planning your child's name and hear how it will sound. Under My Picks, you can take food from your favorite child (yakisoba was a choice), animals (no dragons, I'm afraid), and color. In my music, you can choose up to five daytime and five lullabies. After you've done on each screen, click Save to my friend at the bottom of the page, and you're ready to go.

You can also subscribe to one parent account and use various learning programs LeapFrog to monitor and encourage the way of your child's learning. I certainly consider doing so in the way when the kids are a little older.

It is incredibly charming to have a toy that can interact directly with my son. Matt looked at Scout, as he would a person where Scout said his name, or in one instance, writing his name in a song. There is a small break on the right toy speaks before saying the name, but I do not think my novice taster noticed that. He did, however, some bat Scout, laughed when he heard his name, and chewed the nose Scout is a little - but the game is not really ripe one strength at the age of Matt.

My oldest son, Jake, was also intrigued by Scout. I liked that encourages the Scout game more interactive than other toys that can play music or talk. And the amount of things you can do is a definite improvement over similar toys I've bought over the years.

Here's my big beef with Scout, though. It seems that the toy is intended to be programmed with a child in mind. Or at least that's how I felt. When I tried to change the setting on the LeapFrog Connect to put in the name of Jake and preferences, which seemed easy to do. I changed the name, preferences, choose the music, and so on, and click on My Settings to rename. No problem. Scout disconnected the USB cable and turned it on expecting to hear: "Hello, Jacob." Instead I got "Hello, Matthew." So I checked the guide will help player profiles and tried to change the name and profile of Matt for Jake. One word: argh. Finally, I realized that I had to save every choice I made, especially one with my name, to get everything to stick.

I think it would be very helpful (especially for those with more than one child will play with this toy) for LeapFrog have a tutorial available online. This would help parents walk by all the major configuration problems, including the addition of several Pal profiles and switch between them. I know it would have saved me an hour of cursing silently at Scout poor innocent, when I could not reprogram it correctly.

Overall, I can see my Pal Scout is a great success with 5-and-under crowd, especially those that have been nagging their mothers for a pet (you know who you are). He is certainly a big hit with me. He is beautiful, has many tricks and without food, walk, poop or cleaning required. What more can I ask?

If the name of your child is scheduled, it will tell you that he is tired and he wants them to snuggle up - very nice!

In early February annoucned LeapFrog plans to introduce a plush puppy named Scout, or violet, if you prefer purple dogs to help children from 6 months to 3 years learning the first words, numbers, home and so on. Speaking of Teddy is not entirely new, but so far we have not been terribly impressed with the options on the market. My Pal Scout goes on pre-sale this week and should be widely available soon. We've been playing with the dog for a few weeks now and are very impressed with the Scout and love your family friendly price.

As noted, there are plenty of edutainment plush products on store shelves. But most fall short in many ways, limited content, price, high interactivity, repetitive - the list goes on. They usually get interesting, then get buried deep in the toy box.

My Pal Scout is different in many ways, most obviously the price take $ 20. But, as with their higher end learning toys, LeapFrog has included a channel to LeapFrog Connect, a desktop application that allows parents to customize and control steps Scout child's learning.
