Gary Allan is bringing his unapologetic, brand rockin 'the country music to fans all over the country in its current Getting Off the Pain Tour, which began in early November. Open tour with Jack Ingram and the Eli Young Band in tow, Allan will remain on the road until February 6, stopping in cities like Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and Atlantic City. With a tour called Getting Off on the Pain, Gary Allan is asking questions, and The Boot obliged, asking the singer to "get it out" when it comes to music. "It's always doing for me. I write and record so I can run. It's for all loops. I have done this since I was a little boy. This is my absolute rush is playing different people every night, bringing something to the table that they never saw, "he said, adding that he also likes to move the audience to feel different emotions through his music.
Although their sound is pure honky tonk Nashville, Gary Allan actually comes from Southern California, where he began playing country music with his father's band in just 12 years. Eventually, Allan formed his own band, adopting the Bakersfield country sound of artists like Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. After years of solidifying his status as a new traditionalist country singer, Allan signed with the Decca label in 1996 and released his debut album Used Heart for Sale, later that year.
Allan's second album, It Would Be You, arrived in 1998, a true product of the production of Nashville elegant, but when her label closed its doors the following year, he had a chance to return to the vulgar charm for which he is known. MCA and signed Allan Smoke Rings in the Dark was released later in 1999. A pure honky tonk record devoid of glossy production, the album contains a cover of Del Shannon hit "Runaway."
Alright Guy followed in 2001 and was another set of success thanks to the only "man to man," Allan's first song to top the charts. After touring extensively in support of Alright Guy, Allan began work on their follow-up, which came in the form of See If I Care in 2003. Tough All Over followed in 2005, making it into the Top 10, and after releasing a greatest hits album in 2007, gave Allan Living Hard studio set later that year.
Allan on its website quotes the Rolling Stones as an influence on the hard life, that is, without doubt, more rock-tinged Allan effort to date. The gravelly-voiced singer also reveals that fans influenced the direction of his latest album, saying, "I feel that I have this young crowd with me now, I've got these rocker kids in my audience.
