In early February annoucned LeapFrog plans to introduce a plush puppy named Scout, or violet, if you prefer purple dogs to help children from 6 months to 3 years learning the first words, numbers, home and so on. Speaking of Teddy is not entirely new, but so far we have not been terribly impressed with the options on the market. My Pal Scout goes on pre-sale this week and should be widely available soon. As noted, there are plenty of edutainment plush products on store shelves. But most fall short in many ways, limited content, price, high interactivity, repetitive - the list goes on. They usually get interesting, then get buried deep in the toy box.
My Pal Scout is different in many ways, most obviously the price take $ 20. But, as with their higher end learning toys, LeapFrog has included a channel to LeapFrog Connect, a desktop application that allows parents to customize and control steps Scout child's learning.
